This oil and cold wax painting is called Ethereal. It reminds me of Monet’s waterlilies in its mystical and soft overall feel.
Sometimes these paintings take layers and layers and week to create. But this one was very special. It happened in only a matter of days and the minute I stepped back to observe it, I knew it was complete. Artists sometimes refer to creativity as a flow state. This was definitely born of that unique and elusive state of mind that we artists can not summon or control. We must only be grateful when it decides to embrace us.
