Made with layers and layers of oil paint and cold wax, this painting depicts the multi-faceted human experience. Much like a distressed piece of furniture, we go through highs and lows, mountain tops and valleys in our lives. These seasons can be joyful or painful, filled with excitement or periods of monotony. But all of the steps along our journey make one uniquely beautiful picture. I’m learning to embrace all of it and accept it for what it is. This painting reminds me that there are beautiful colors underneath the scratches and scrapes of life and that as whole, life is a masterpiece.
